2018 has been an amazing year for Faber, with industry awards, local, national and international press all recognising our achievements. Our portfolio of projects is rapidly growing and as a result, so is our team of talented designers. Here’s a quick rundown of the highlights so far…
Award wins
Faber was awarded Restaurant & Bar Interiors Project of the Year 2018 at the prestigious Mixology North Awards in December. We were also shortlisted in the World Interiors News Awards for Emerging Practice of the Year, recognising the outstanding work of the team since we launched in 2013.
World-class projects
We’ve completed numerous world-class restaurant & bar projects this year, including Folium, Kilder and the much talked-about ‘Nocturnal Animals’ from acclaimed chef, Alex Claridge. We are also embarking on our third collaboration with Michelin-starred chef, Adam Stokes: ‘The Oyster Club’, due to open in February 2019.
Faber’s growth
The team here at Faber is continuing to grow, with five new members joining us in 2018 alone. We’re also in the process of expanding our main studio in Digbeth, Birmingham, so watch this space for updates.
Putting Birmingham on the foodie map
Birmingham has seen an upsurge of high quality food and beverage outlets in recent years, putting it firmly on the map as a foodie destination. Many of the restaurants recognised as part of this culinary revolution have been Faber projects, including Adam’s, which was named TripAdvisor's 2nd best restaurant in the UK and 11th best in the world for 2018. Our part in Birmingham’s transformation hasn’t gone unnoticed and we were the subject of a major feature by the Birmingham Post in September.
