Faber took a trip to Nottingham for a bit of design inspiration - and it didn't disappoint. We whiled away the hours exploring the city's many vintage shops, cafes, galleries and teahouses. Here's a few of our favourite haunts...
We had our first ever matcha green tea latte at this Vietnamese inspired café on Byard Lane. Many of the materials used for the interior décor were shipped over from Ho Chi Minh, giving it a beautifully authentic feel.
This group of late-Georgian buildings has been home to a variety of businesses over the centuries, including a photographer’s studio in the 1800s and a magazine publishing house in the 1970s. It was derelict for decades before it was renovated in 2013, and now houses several independent retailers, craftspeople and creative agencies.
Sadly, this community arts café in Hockley is no more. We managed to get in there a few days before it closed its doors for a final cuppa. We loved the spacious high ceilings and the beautiful natural light that swept in from the original Victorian shop front window. It will be sorely missed.
This little shop of curiosities on St James’ St is dedicated to showcasing local creative talent. We could’ve stayed there for hours browsing the selection of local design pieces, including textiles, jewellery, prints and home accessories.
Chintzy, pink and filled with fine bone china – White Rabbit is everything an authentic English teahouse should be. Quirky illustrations and house plants in teapots give this cosy café oodles of character. They do an amazing hot chocolate too.
