At Faber, we love showcasing the stunning work we do through our portfolio. But today, we’re shifting the spotlight inward. It’s time to give you a glimpse into the talented team that brings our creative visions to life. Who are they? What inspires them? And what little quirks make them tick?
This week, we’re introducing Prachi, our junior designer on placement. She’s a self-proclaimed foodie, an avid photographer, and a passionate crafter. Let’s dive in and get to know Prachi better!
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Passionate. Sociable. Adaptable.
If I had to choose three words to sum up my personality, I’d go with these. I thrive on connection, I love a good challenge, and I always try to approach life with positivity and a sense of curiosity.
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement so far has to be getting to where I am today.
For the longest time, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to be or where I wanted to go. There was this cloud of uncertainty hanging over me as I tried to figure out my path. But over the years, I’ve learned so much about myself by exploring different interests and trying new things.
While I’m not saying I have it all figured out, I’ve come to realise that clarity is a journey, not a destination. And I’m okay with that! The process of learning and growing has been its own reward, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next.
What made you want to become an interior designer?
Like so many people in this field, my love for art and design started early.
As a kid, I was always drawn to anything creative—painting, music, reading, or crafting. But it wasn’t until I picked up graphic design during my GCSEs and A-levels that my passion truly started to take shape.
I’ve also always loved photographing beautiful buildings. At first, it was just for fun, but over time, I became fascinated by the idea of spaces telling stories. I started thinking about the memories people create in these places and how designers unknowingly become part of those stories.
Eventually, I realised I wanted to contribute to that magic. I wanted to create spaces that people could connect with, where they could share moments, build memories, and feel truly alive. And that’s what led me here—to Faber and to the world of interior design.
What is your favourite Faber project?
Being from Leicester, I’d have to say Bobby’s was the project that initially caught my attention. Seeing such an iconic space reimagined with so much care and creativity was incredible.
That said, I’m also in love with Legacy, The George Hotel, and Tavola. Each of these projects has its own unique character and tells a different story, which is what I love most about Faber’s work.
What is your feel-good song?
Anything by Fall Out Boy!
Their music has this energy that instantly puts me in a good mood. Right now, I’ve been listening to their album Save Rock and Roll on repeat—it’s like a little dose of nostalgia and motivation rolled into one.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’d choose Greece or Italy in a heartbeat!
Since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with Greek and Roman mythology, thanks to the Percy Jackson series. There’s something magical about the ruins, the history, and the connection to ancient civilizations. I’d love to wander through the cobblestone streets, soak up the architecture, and experience the culture first-hand.
How would you describe your perfect weekend?
My ideal weekend would be a mix of exploration, relaxation, and connection.
On Saturday, I’d spend the day exploring with friends—wandering through markets, discovering a new food spot for lunch, and maybe ending the evening with a movie or a fun craft project.
Sunday would be all about recharging. I’d start with a lazy morning lie-in, planning my week ahead followed by a big family dinner with my cousins. There’s nothing quite like the warm buzz of laughter and conversation filling the house. And to wind down, I’d curl up with a good book before bed. Pure bliss!
What are you most afraid of?
Not being able to experience everything I want to in life.
There’s so much to see, do, and learn, and the thought of missing out on any of it terrifies me a little. But at the same time, it’s what keeps me curious and motivated to keep trying new things.
Pet hates?
People who take long calls on loudspeaker in public transport.
Honestly, is there anything worse?
What three items could you not live without?
My glasses (because I’d be lost without them).
Headphones — background music is essential!
Cozy lamps that add that perfect warm glow to any space.
