Packaging design to broaden the product range of a historic butchers company
"Established in 1829, Jesse Smith steps up it's retail game with a unified approach to packaging."
Jesse Smith butchers, established in 1829, is a family owned and run business located in the heart of the Cotswolds. With five locations across the region, the business has evolved from a traditional butchery to becoming a real 'foodie' destination with their farm shop and café concept.
Faber were asked to develop a range of packaging solutions, across a variety of product lines. Working within the parameters of each packaging type was key; with the ultimate goal of creating a unified brand identity that would communicate their core values - flavour, discovery, provenance, excitement, authority and service.
The end result balances tradition and modernity. A block pattern references the rolling hills of the Cotswolds and is used in a variety of formats. Labelling has a traditional structure and includes a stamp in a contemporary character font, 'Traditional & Handmade'. The packaging design provides Jesse Smith with a blueprint for the future development of new product lines and, ultimately, the continued growth of their food-led business.
