Client Spotlight : St Martins Lodge

Welcome to our Client Spotlight blog series, where we take a closer look at some of our favourite completed projects.

The client

St Martins Lodge, a Grade II listed former manor house, formed part of the existing St Martins Conference Centre - having been used as office space for a number of years. The client saw potential to add luxury accommodation to their conference and events offering and tasked Faber with transforming the building, which overlooks Leicester Cathedral.

“We were utterly blown away by the finished results; the design captured the historic personality of the building perfectly and the team made it a really enjoyable process.”

The brief:

Working alongside architects Corporate, Faber had a fairly open brief - to create a luxury guesthouse to compliment the St Martins House conference and events centre located nextdoor.

The client wanted to capitalise on the views over the cathedral and retain the buildings heritage whilst bringing it back to life in a modern form.

Results: Eclectic. Grand. Inviting

Faber created three different room specs, as well as a penthouse suite, all individually styled to complement the existing period features. Rich colour palettes and finishes are contrasted with mix of period and modern fixtures and fittings.

The resulting style is an eclectic design which incorporates and makes the most of the history and character of the original building. Many original features were retained including the hallway with its chandelier and elegant staircase and grand marble fireplace.
